MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT

amended October 16th, 2022

 

The terms of membership in our programs at Shogen-Ryu Karate-Do International Ltd. are set out below.

 

MEMBERSHIPS

There are two membership options:

  • Annual - Full Payment

  • Annual - Monthly Payments

 

Membership accounts are set two ways. 

First is a year commitment only, which means that at the end of year agreement clients will be renewed at the most recent membership fees which may have been subject to increases. Second way is to “auto renew” in the system. It is set up this way to ensure your fees will remain the same between membership years.

 

Second way, if you do not notify the SKIL dojo administration that you wish to cancel your membership, you will be automatically billed for the following period(monthly or year)

Please note: No refunds will be granted once payment has been made.

 

Once you have chosen an annual membership, there is no commitment to continue your enrollment beyond the current year. There will be an auto renewal set to your account to ensure your fees remain the same for the next year. Therefore, if you do not ask us to stop processing payments, we will assume you intend to extend your membership and continue to charge you. Thereafter, we will not refund monies that we have collected.

 

FAMILY MEMBERSHIPS

There is a significant discount when 2, 3 or 4 members of the same family enroll together.

Like individual membership there are two payment option:

Family Memberships can be paid all up front or paid each month if you commit to remain in the

program for 12 consecutive months. With the annual membership, there is no commitment to continue your enrollment beyond the current Year. There will be an auto renewal set to your account to ensure your fees remain the same for the next year. Therefore, if you do not ask us to stop processing payments, we will assume you intend to extend your membership and continue to charge you. Thereafter, we will not refund monies that we have collected.

 

 

 

REIMBURSEMENT FOR MISSED KARATE/KOBUDO and/or BRAZILAIN JIU JITSU CLASSES/APPOINTMENTS/EVENTS

There are no refunds. If you are unable to attend class/appointment and/or event, or if the SKIL dojo must cancel a class, you are encouraged to attend a different class offered that week.

 

All students who miss any scheduled time/event/class are not entitled to a refund of any portion of the membership fees they have paid. If you miss a class, or if we cancel a specific class, we ask you to attend one of the other classes we offer in that week.

 

PAYMENT ACCEPTANCE POLICY

Payments arrangements can be processed electronically from e-transfer or via credit card. We process payments electronically from your checking, savings, or credit card account on the anniversary or Monthly date of your initial enrollment. Please note: Payment through e- transfer, chequing or savings account is more convenient and economical for the SKIL dojo which allows us to keep overhead low. A savings that we pass on to our members. By keeping our overhead low, we can pass along savings to our students in the form of lower enrollment fees.

 

EXTENSION OF ENROLLMENT

 Unless written notification is received indicating your wish to stop automatic payments, you authorize the SKIL dojo to renew your enrollment at the conclusion of each year or month (depending on the membership in which you are enrolled).

 

CANCELLATION OF MEMBERSHIP

 It is your obligation to pay your agreed upon dues in a consistent and timely manner for the year. Other obligations, other activities, being sick or injured does not excuse you from your commitment. If you are having temporary financial difficulties, you should discuss it with administration and let them know when you plan to return to pay your agreement and honour your one-year commitment. If you are allowed to continue training you will be notified, but do not assume or expect cooperation from administration. In the event that you must leave temporarily, continue training on your own so that you are prepared when you return.

Attention: tuition is non-refundable, and the commitment is one full year. If you cancel your membership, you are still responsible for all payments in the one-year commitment.

 

LATE PAYMENTS

Late payments will have an additional $35.00 added to your account.

 

MISSED PAYMENTS

A 35.00 NSF charge will be charged if cheques are returned for nonsufficient funds. If stop payment occurs without notification, the agreement will be forwarded to a collection company at the signees expense.

 

I agree that this document shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of Ontario.

I hereby affirm that I have read, understand, and fully assent to the agreement as outlined above.
